Job summary

JMS Talent Partners seeks an Analysis Engineer in Buffalo, NY to lead the development and application of advanced models for electromechanical systems, including motors, drives, actuators, gearing, and motion mechanisms, using MATLAB/Simscape-based dynamic, thermal, and power-flow analysis.

You will guide system performance decisions, mentor engineers, review designs, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to define requirements and validate results through tests and simulations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required with 9+ years of experience or bachelor’s with 11+ years
  • Preferred: MATLAB and Simscape for dynamic, thermal, and power‑flow analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑disciplinary engineering efforts
  • Preferred: experience with actuation technologies (motors, gearing, ball screws, DC motor drives) and electric/hybrid propulsion systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced analysis across electrical, mechanical, software, and actuation systems.
  • Use modeling and simulation to define and validate system requirements, performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Develop test plans and correlate test data with models.
  • Conduct subsystem testing and support system/vehicle integration.
  • Apply innovative engineering solutions to enhance product performance.
  • Review designs and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Work with internal teams and customers to define requirements and present technical results.
  • Improve standard engineering processes and documentation.
  • Mentor engineers at multiple experience levels.

Job description

Onsite in Buffalo, NY - preference given to local candidates. No relocation assistance available.

Must be US Citizen or Greencard Holder - no visa sponsorship available now or in the future.

The Analysis Engineer serves as a senior technical leader responsible for developing and applying advanced models and simulations across electromechanical systems such as motors, drives, actuators, gearing, and motion mechanisms. This role centers on MATLAB/Simscape‑based dynamic, thermal, and power‑flow analysis, guiding system performance decisions and supporting cross‑functional engineering teams

Support proposals through technical definitions, trade studies, and compliance activities.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering with 9+ years of experience (or bachelor’s with 11+ years).
  • Preferred experience using MATLAB and Simscape for dynamic, thermal, and power‑flow analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑disciplinary engineering efforts.
  • Preferred: FEA/CFD experience (Ansys), knowledge of electric/hybrid propulsion systems, and experience with actuation technologies (motors, gearing, ball screws, DC motor drives).
