Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking an AMT Trainee at the St. Louis site. Under direct supervision, you will support aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement and modification of key components to ensure proper operation.

You will gain experience across mechanical systems, learn inspection coordination, and complete work orders while adhering to FAA requirements and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; entry level.
  • Prior aviation maintenance experience is helpful.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience and knowledge in the maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Learn skills related to repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical components of the aircraft.
  • Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Properly complete work order sign-offs and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and store customer property and equipment securely.
  • Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Operate and oversee use of special support equipment for major components.
  • Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair as needed.

The compensation range for this role is $21.00 - $24.25 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Entry level. Prior aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) is helpful.Position Purpose:Under direct supervision, assist with various functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. In this position, the employee will gain knowledge of and familiarity with the Gulfstream aircraft, and with internal procedures for work completion and quality control.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  • Gain experience and knowledge in the maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems .
  • Learn skills related to the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
  • Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
  • Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
  • Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
  • Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
  • Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
  • Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .

Additional Functions:

  • Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
  • Assist with the movement of aircraft, as required. .
  • Develop knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform other duties as assigned.This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
