Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an AMO Technician to support Assembly, Maintenance and Overhaul (AMO) operations by repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring quality and safety in a manufacturing setting. You will work with peers, supervisors, and internal/external customers to sustain efficiency and meet production goals.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and adherence to safety procedures while contributing to reliability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Diagnose issues and develop action plans for various work assignments.
  • Demonstrate initiative and planning ability in organizing work.
  • Proficient with general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Capable of basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining AMO production by performing repairs within scope of expertise.
  • Interpret and execute work orders following safety procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on scheduled basis.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and support repairs to prevent failures.
  • Develop expertise within a specialized skill area.
  • Operate medium-sized heavy equipment (e.g., Bobcats, forklifts).
  • Maintain awareness of safety hazards and follow policies.
  • Keep department records up to date.
  • Set up and monitor equipment needed for manufacturing operations.
  • Operate multiple machines as required.
  • Conduct QA activities per manufacturing/engineering standards.
  • Collaborate on cross-group projects as needed.

Job Description AMO Technician

Are you passionate about equipment maintenance and manufacturing operations? Do you enjoy troubleshooting technical issues and supporting production in a fast-paced environment? Partnering with the Best As an AMO Technician, you will support Assembly, Maintenance and Overhaul (AMO) operations by performing equipment repairs, preventive maintenance activities, equipment operation, and quality support within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with peers, supervisors, and internal and external customers to maintain operational efficiency, support production goals, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality requirements.

As an AMO Technician, you will utilize your mechanical aptitude, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities to support manufacturing operations and equipment reliability. You will perform maintenance activities, operate manufacturing equipment, support quality assurance requirements, and contribute to achieving departmental objectives while maintaining a strong commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in maintaining Assembly, Maintenance and Overhaul production by making repairs within scope of expertise.
  • Interpreting and executing work orders while following safe work procedures.
  • Performing mechanical repairs on equipment and preventive maintenance activities on a scheduled basis.

  • Developing expertise within a specialized skill area.
  • Operating medium-sized heavy equipment, including Bobcats, manlifts, forklifts, trenchers, and similar equipment.
  • Maintaining awareness of safety hazards and following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining department records.
  • Setting up, monitoring, and operating various pieces of equipment associated with manufacturing facility requirements.
  • Operating multiple machines simultaneously as required.
  • Performing quality assurance activities in accordance with manufacturing, engineering, and industry standard requirements.
  • Participating in special projects with peers from other work groups as required.
Qualifications
  • Have expertise in problem recognition and specialized technical skills to develop solutions and action plans for a variety of work assignments.
  • Have the ability to demonstrate personal initiative and ingenuity in planning and organizing work.
  • Have advanced office or technical skills acquired through a combination of training and directly related experience.
  • Have the ability to effectively interact with peers, supervisors, and internal and external customers.
  • Have sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Have advanced mechanical aptitude, including experience with general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
