Job summary

Crowe in Houston seeks a Temporary Consultant for Financial Crime Audit & Testing to deliver AML/Regulatory compliance engagements across banking clients. The role focuses on BSA/AML testing, internal audit support, and delivering risk-based assurance with strong analytical skills.

The candidate will have AML/BSA knowledge, relevant certifications, and ability to travel up to 5% as needed. This is a professional services project-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in BSA/AML consulting/advisory, bank internal audit, or compliance testing.
• CAMS, CIA, CISA or other relevant certification preferred.
• Proficiency with AML/BSA regulatory requirements for retail banking activities, products and services.
• Understanding of banking regulations and supervisory expectations for large financial institutions.
• Knowledge of statistical analytics and testing methods.
• Experience in professional services or project-based environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior financial services internal audit or third-line internal audit experience is a plus.
• Willing to travel up to 5% if requested.

Responsibilities

• Develop, audit, and monitor AML/BSA compliance for financial institutions of all sizes.
• Execute across all audit phases—from planning to reporting to senior management.
• Report audit results, findings, and recommendations to management and committees.
• Build relationships with Business Lines across three lines of defense.
