Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a dedicated operator for amine operations to ensure safe and efficient equipment performance on site. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize plant outputs while adhering to Kodiak’s procedures and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in amine operations with the ability to interpret blueprints, maintain records, and work with limited supervision. This role includes flexible scheduling and periodic travel to field sites.

Qualifications

  • Must pass an operator qualification test.
  • 2+ years of amine operations and/or maintenance experience required.
  • 5+ years preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal vocational training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment to ensure safe on-site conditions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of units and tools.
  • Record daily job logs and report operating data.
  • Communicate inventory needs and parts usage to the office.
  • Work with minimal supervision and adapt to field conditions.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Summary:

Reporting to the Area Manager, this position is responsible for monitoring and operating equipment to ensure a safe work environment for the customer, contractors, and all on location. The employee in the operator position has moved beyond trainee and demonstrates an increased ability to work independently and use good judgment and discretion with less supervision than a trainee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak's procedures/protocols, goals and objectives
  • Successful and satisfactory completion of operator qualification tests
  • Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams and secure machinery
  • Cleans and checks units, tools and equipment and performs routine maintenance
  • Review and maintain historical data
  • Check plants differential pressures, temperatures, filters, chemicals, and engines to ensure they are running properly
  • Optimize plant output by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of machines and equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications
  • Record and transmit data of job logs on a daily basis from the field to the office of operating conditions of plants and equipment
  • Communicate with the office in order to control inventory restocking and parts usage
  • Operates with minimal supervision
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, contractors, and employees
  • Ability to work independently, while actively seeking out ways to assist the team
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required
  • Friendly, respectful, and customer service-oriented
  • Proficient MS Office skills; Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively in a team environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include holidays and weekends
Education and/or Experience:
  • 2+ years of amine operations and/or maintenance or related industry experience required
  • 5+ years of amine operations and/or maintenance or related industry experience preferred
  • Must pass an operator qualification test
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Formal vocational training is preferred
Physical Demands:
  • Requires operation of heavy equipment
  • Requires employee to stand for up to 75% of the time
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions - stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold
  • Up to 10% of travel
