Job summary

Affordable Language Services in Cincinnati, OH is seeking Amharic and Tigrinya interpreters for in-person appointments as independent contractors. You will provide interpretation services to diverse communities across medical, educational, and social settings.

Fluency in English and at least one additional language is required, along with US work authorization. All contractors may be asked to complete background checks and vaccination records as applicable to medical interpreting roles.

Qualifications

• Fluent bilingual in English and at least one other language.
• US i-9 work authorization.
• Background check and drug test may be required.
• Vaccination records (MMR, Varicella, Covid, Flu) if interested in medical interpreting.
• Willingness to attend in-person appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor across medical, educational, or other settings.
• Serve the community by assisting students, patients, and clients in person.
• Adhere to professional standards and maintain confidentiality.
• Manage independent contractor responsibilities including background checks and drug testing as required.
