Job summary

Communities In Schools of Central Texas is seeking AmeriCorps Mentors to provide consistent, caring support to elementary and middle school students across Central Texas. Through one-to-one mentoring and small group facilitation, you will help students strengthen academic engagement and social-emotional skills.

Qualifications

  • Comfort using technology for documentation and programme activities.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Commitment to completing the full AmeriCorps service term.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly mentoring through individual and small group sessions.
  • Support students’ literacy, mathematics, academic engagement, and social-emotional development.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20 students and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Complete 1,700 AmeriCorps service hours over the 10-month term.
  • Support campus-wide CISCT events and school initiatives.
  • Attend required training sessions and complete AmeriCorps programme requirements.

As part of the national Communities In Schools network, the organization delivers integrated student support through school-wide services, targeted group interventions, and individualized assistance. Through its AmeriCorps programme, CISCT places mentors in elementary and middle schools across Central Texas to build meaningful relationships with students, helping them overcome barriers and access opportunities that promote educational success and long-term wellbeing.## The RoleCISCT is seeking AmeriCorps Mentors to provide consistent, caring support to elementary and middle school students across Central Texas. Through one-to-one mentoring and small group facilitation, you will help students strengthen academic engagement, build social-emotional skills, and develop the confidence needed to thrive both in and outside the classroom.This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about educational equity and youth development.
