Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking a Geology Assistant (AmeriCorps) to support resource management at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The role involves field work updating oil/gas well and abandoned mine site inventories, collecting GPS data, and preparing reports to guide park planning and funding requests.

The position runs for 12 weeks with a flexible start date; housing is not provided. The candidate should be able to travel on foot through rough terrain and work both in the

Qualifications

US citizen, US national, or lawful permanent resident.
Has HS diploma or equivalent or agrees to obtain one before using the education award.
Must pass National Service Criminal History Check for Conservation Legacy and host site security check.
Must be available to serve the full 26 weeks of AmeriCorps term.

Responsibilities

Review and validate inventory inspection sheets, photos and maps.
Field updates of oil/gas wells and abandoned mine features with GPS locations.
Prepare final reports with inspection results, environmental condition docs, photos, maps and recommendations.
