Job summary

AmeriCorps is offering a position in the La Paz County Community Gardening Program in Parker, Arizona. The role focuses on teaching gardening skills while engaging with the community and includes diverse responsibilities such as conducting garden activities and participating in community service events.

This part-time opportunity requires a high school diploma and effective communication skills. Participants will receive training and an education award upon successful completion of the program.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with the public.
• Knowledge in gardening and the local environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions.
• Own car and Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic gardening lessons incorporating STEM concepts.
• Conduct garden activities: bed preparation, planting, and weeding.
• Participate in National Day of Service and team events.
• Maintain activity records and submit reports.
