Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana is seeking an AmeriCorps Enrichment Coach to support youth through Power Hour, Project Learn, and enrichment activities across Arts, STEM, and more. You will work with BGCA staff to guide groups of children and contribute to a positive learning environment in a multi-site setting.

The role involves a regular afternoon schedule, mandatory trainings, and engagement with service projects. Applicants should be 18+, US-based, and able to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or national.
• Be at least 18 years or older.
• Pass a National Service Background Check, including criminal background, sex offender and FBI check.
• Drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Plan & facilitate Power Hour & Project Learn programming in Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership, Fitness & Recreation, Arts, Education & Career Development.
• Collaborate with BGCA staff to facilitate daily activities for small groups (5-10 kids), regular groups (20-30 kids), and large groups (40+ kids).
• Facilitate academic coaching sessions for members.
• Engage youth as leaders to help plan and/or lead event elements.
• Utilize 5 elements of positive youth development to establish a positive learning environment.
• Assist with documenting and reporting disciplinary actions/incidents.
• Collect & submit program intervention data for grant reporting.
• Participate in AmeriCorps meetings & service projects with local corps members.
• Attend mandatory Club-staff meetings/trainings and AmeriCorps activities.

Receiving Applications through August 7th, 2026. Mandatory Pre‑Service Orientation and Club Orientation required prior to start.

Service Summary

AmeriCorps is a rewarding service program where you’ll dedicate your summer to addressing the nation’s most pressing challenges – right in your local community. As an AmeriCorps member, you will:

• SERVE a regular weekly schedule (min. 10‑12 hours/week) throughout the school year.
• Help youth with homework.
• Lead Project Learn Enrichment Activities in Arts, STEM, and More!
• Participate in Team trainings, meetings, and Days of Service: 9/11 Day of Service, MLK Day, AmeriCorps Week, etc.

Once you join AmeriCorps, you’ll join your local Boys & Girls Club (BGC) to support youth and team up with other AmeriCorps members at one of our eight locations. Whether you’re building skills for your future or just looking to make a real impact — this is your chance to serve with purpose.

Commitment

• August 14th, 2026 – May 21st, 2027 (Dates are subject to change).
• Must serve a regular weekly schedule through end of the school year. (Minimum 10‑12 hours/week and at least 300 hours for the term).
• Availability: 2:00PM – 7:00PM, Monday – Friday.
• Some weekends required for off‑site service projects and team activities.
• Must attend all mandatory meetings, training, and service projects.

Eligibility Requirements

• Living Allowance (pre‑tax): Up to $2,800 total* (divided into equal pay periods, bi‑weekly).

Key Roles

• Participate in and/or lead AmeriCorps meetings & service projects with local corps members.
• Attend mandatory Club‑staff meetings/trainings and AmeriCorps activities (service projects, monthly meetings, trainings, and team development activities).

Additional Responsibilities

• Supporting, creating and/or co‑leading events or programs that recognize and appreciate significant growth and achievement in Club members.
• Attending Club outreach events at schools, fairs, etc.
• Engaging with corporate and community partners.
