Job summary

Bur Oak Land Trust AmeriCorps Program seeks a Conservation Education Assistant to enhance local conservation education by planning and delivering engaging programs at Johnson County Conservation properties. You will work 35 hours per week, 8 a.m.

to 4 p.m., with some holidays and site adjustments. The term runs January 2027 through December 2027, with a monthly living allowance of $1,983 before taxes and eligibility for an Education Award upon completion.

Qualifications

• Must have a diploma or GED.
• Must be 17 years or older at start of service.
• Must pass a national service criminal history check prior to first day.
• Must hold US citizenship, US national, or Lawful Permanent Resident status.
• Education Award of $7,395 earned upon successful completion of term.
• Living Allowance of $1,983 per month, pre-tax.
• Health care if applicable.
• Childcare coverage if the member qualifies.
• Student loan forbearance and interest payments for eligible loans.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote and implement learning or engagement events within Johnson County Conservation properties.
• Engage diverse communities and provide education about local biodiversity and conservation practices.
• Attend required training days and maintain accurate timesheets and reporting.
