Conservation Legacy is seeking a Community Assistance Fellow – AmeriCorps to support a schoolyard greening project in Los Angeles and help develop outreach strategies for the NPS-RTCA program. The role is hybrid, requiring occasional in-person meetings and the fellow to provide their own transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape architecture, planning or closely related field.
• United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
• At least 17 years of age
• Has received a high school diploma or equivalency certificate; or has not dropped out of elementary or secondary school to enroll as an AmeriCorps participant, and agrees to obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to using the education award
• Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach and engagement, site analysis, attending and facilitating meetings, communication with project partners, schematic design, graphic communication and project presentations, related to schoolyard greening, outdoor recreation and health related community assistance projects.
• This position will be hybrid with the ability to combine local teleservice with occasional in-person meetings at NPS offices or local project sites. The fellow will be expected to provide their own transportation to and from work locations or use public transportation.
