Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Designing and validating DC layout to meet KPIs for labor, throughput and lead times.
  • Developing and communicating DC IE KPIs and project roadmap across 3PLs.
  • Choosing and validating warehouse automation using data-driven approaches.
  • Collaborating with 3PL partners to drive data-driven process optimizations.
  • Validating new automation/equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Setting DC benchmarking metrics across US, APAC and Europe.

As a Kaizen/Process improvement specialist, you will in this highly impactful role be leading efforts to make things better through processes and technology and drive the best customer experience and enable the best fulfilment solutions to Apples customers. You will bring your passion and thirst for excellence to drive improvements and new technologies in our Distribution Center operations to ensure optimal use of resources and maximise efficiencies.

Description

As a AMR IE for DC operations, you will In this highly impactful role where you will be leading efforts to make things better through processes or technology. You will bring your passion and thirst for excellence to drive improvements and new technologies at our 3PL sites to ensure optimum use of resources.

DC Operations
  • Designing and validating distribution center layout to ensure KPIs for labor, throughput and lead times are met
  • Develop, own, and communicate the DC IE KPI's and project roadmap at multiple 3PL's to our senior leadership team
  • Choosing, designing and validating warehouse automation using data driven approaches
  • Working with third party logistics (3PL) partners and vendors to drive data driven process and design optimizations
  • Validate new and cutting edge automation/operational equipment to drive efficiency and productivity improvements
  • Setup DC benchmarking metrics for DC's across US, APAC and Europe
Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with predetermined time standards such as MODAPTS, MOST or MTM
  • Modeling and evaluating discrete process simulations
  • Experience with Design for Logistics operations including assembly/manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Exposure to ergonomic validations
  • Ability to run basic models in discrete event simulation softwares (FlexSIM and PlantSIM)
Factory Efficiency and Metrics
  • Calculating production costs and metrics that include time, labor, space, equipment and overhead
  • Maintaining product process flow, layout and parameters
  • Implementing lean principles to various factory related processes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain Managment or Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field and two years of experience in the job offered or related occupations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3D factory modelling and visualization software (Factory CAD, Line Designer, Factory Design Suite )
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work to tight project deadlines
  • Deep understanding of supply chain, logistics, and eCommerce operations
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt and can problem-solve on the fly.
  • Be comfortable working with a high level of ambiguity and delivering results in an unstructured environment.
  • Can prioritize strategic objectives which optimize for speed, cost, and environmental impact while also achieving high-value tactical outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to use data effectively to size, prioritize, and stitch business elements to influence through effective storytelling.
  • Must have phenomenal presentation skills with a keen eye for detail, and expertise in synthesizing complex information for a wide range of audiences.
  • An excellent teammate who can influence through collaboration and leadership, and are able to work effectively with other teams, bringing them along for the journey is essential.
  • Obsess over the customer experience and are particularly curious about how to deliver new experiences across digital and brick-and-mortar channels.
