Ohlone College in Newark, CA seeks a sign language interpreter to provide ASL interpretation and transliteration for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees across lectures, meetings, and events. The role requires fluency in ASL and English, and certifications including NIC, NAD Level V, CSC, CI, CT, CI/CT.

Provide sign language interpreting and transliterating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees (faculty, staff, and managers). These services may be required in various settings, including lectures, group discussions, collaborative projects, campus events, workshops, seminars, department and team meetings, professional development activities, and emergency or crisis response situations. The sign language interpreter is responsible for maintaining professional ethics and adhering to the RID Code of Professional Conduct. This position requires fluency in both English and American Sign Language, along with a high level of mental focus. Interpreting assignments are based on the needs of Deaf employees and the District, including highly sensitive interactions between the District and employees.
This position requires current NIC, NAD Level V, CSC, CI, CT, and/or CI/CT certifications
$70.00 Hourly, 2-hour minimum.
This is a temporary position, limited to a maximum of 165 working days within a fiscal year.
