Job summary

Bradley University in Peoria, IL invites applications for America Reads Tutor positions. The America Reads Tutoring Program is currently accepting applications throughout the academic year. This program combines community service, rewarding work experience, and a chance to make a difference in future generations. The America Reads Program aims to help elementary aged children (ages K-8) learn to read independently through small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions.

• Successful tutors may continue employment through the spring and subsequent years, if eligible.
• All tutoring is completed by 7:30 pm

Monday - Thursday, Afternoon/Evenings, 2-9 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Working in small groups/one-on-one with elementary aged children to improve literacy skills
• Adapting to children's support needs
• Providing guidance to children for their areas of focus
• Observing improvement/progress of children

Qualifications

• Prior experience in youth tutoring is preferred but not required
