Job summary

Bank of China Limited, New York Branch is seeking an Application Development Associate to support application development projects and maintain production systems across the bank.

The role covers maintenance, development, testing, documentation, and risk management in line with change controls. A bachelor in CS or IT and 1–2 years of related experience are preferred; strong SQL and programming skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology or related subject required; Master's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of strong web page and computer program development and testing experience required.
• 1-2 years of experiences with SQL scripts and data extracting skills.
• 1-2 years of IT project development, testing and maintenance experience.
• IT industry certificates preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least 2 programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, C Shell).
• Considerable skills in application software support, modifying, installation, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting; considerable skill in researching and evaluating computer software.

Responsibilities

• Application Maintenance: Provide first level application maintenance support services.
• Review and analyze application issues, prepare solutions for supervisor to review and approve, and execute after approval.
• Participate in testing and submit solution to supervisor for review.
• Assist with updating of application systems maintenance documents.
• Ensure adherence to change management procedure when implementing application solutions.
• Application Development: Conduct business requirement gathering with stakeholders to understand business and system requirements.
• Assist with development of project plan and conclusions based on analysis and present to supervisor for review.
• Write application codes in compliance with secure coding principles.
• Assist with design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of application projects.
• Conduct testing including unit and system integration tests to validate requirements.
• Develop detailed application documentation.
• Adhere to application development procedures.
• Risk Control: Execute processes in accordance with Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks.

Overview

Application Development Associate provides support on application development project and support the maintenance of production systems for the Bank and its branches.

Responsibilities

• Application Maintenance:
  • Provide first level application maintenance support services

Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate's relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.
