Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking Principle Equipment/Maintenance Technicians to sustain and run the fab floor, resolving equipment and process issues on a compressed 12-hour shift schedule. The facility operates 24/7 with technician support across all shifts.

Responsibilities include monitoring advanced 300mm equipment, preventive maintenance, SPC review, and documentation, while following health, safety and environmental procedures. Minimal travel is required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree (or equivalent) with 2-year technical/Associates in science, math, engineering, or related field.
• 4 years direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing or equipment maintenance.
• English language fluency (Written & Verbal).
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a cleanroom environment and lift up to 50 lbs (two-person lift).
• Proficient with Windows/Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Summary of Role

Principle Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Essential Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm semiconductor equipment
• Perform basic preventive maintenance activities
• React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
• Process wafers using defined procedures
• Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
• Perform visual inspections (quality check)
• Recover from process and tool interruptions
• Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
• Complete all required reporting and documentation
• Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
• Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)

2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence

Experience: At least 4 years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance

Experience: Or 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent military experience

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel

Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)

Basic reading and writing comprehension skills

Basic computer navigation skills - (i.e.Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook)

Able to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements.

Able to work in a standing position for an extended period of time (during a 12-hour shift)

Able to lift equipment and tools when performing maintenance activities (above 50lbs requires a two-person lift)

Flexible and willing to work any shift (3-4 days alternating weeks during day or night shift)

Preferred Qualifications

2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence

Experience: 6+ years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance

Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent military experience

Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment

Able to operate computer interfacing systems

Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness

Proficiency with software applications and Microsoft Office

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong planning & organizational skills.

Communicates and collaborates with: Local and global co-workers within the function Internal and external customers and/or suppliers to provide service and support on an ongoing basis

Expected Salary Range $58,400.00 - $100,800.00 The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
