Brown University Health in Rhode Island seeks a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist to evaluate patients, establish diagnoses, and implement individualized care plans. You will direct rehab plans, monitor progress, and educate patients and caregivers, while coordinating discharge needs and ensuring accurate documentation.
Responsibilities include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining compliance with standards, and participating in ongoing professional development.
The Speech-Language Pathologist reports directly to the Clinical Manager and/or Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM)/ Supervisor of their respective department and may receive clinical guidance from senior staff and/or clinical specialists. The Speech-Language Pathologist establishes diagnosis and prognosis; develops an individualized plan of care; implements treatment interventions; and performs on‑going evaluations throughout episode of care.
Independent Actions: Performs independently within the department’s policies and practices; Refers specific complex problems to ACM/Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager when clarification of departmental policies and procedures is required; Independently sets goals for professional development
Membership and involvement in discipline specific professional organization and/or other clinically relevant organization is strongly encouraged
Performs other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Active Speech‑Language Pathologist license, or provisional license for Clinical Fellows completing clinical fellowship year, in state in which they practice.
Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA).
For clinical fellows, evidence of pursuit of ASHA certification.
One year experience, or eligibility for provisional license. Clinical Fellows will be considered.
A licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist will be responsible for the clinical supervision of supportive personnel, Clinical Fellows, volunteers, and students to ensure the safety and welfare of patients.
