Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse to join our patient care team. You will deliver compassionate nursing care in a clinic setting, conducting targeted screenings, coordinating care, and guiding patients through instructions with strong communication.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostics, wound care, tube management, and patient education, while triaging urgent situations under standing orders and protocols.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs wound assessments and complex wound care including wound vac changes; manages sutures/staples after provider assessment.
• Inserts/removes tubes and drains; applies splints/braces as needed.
• Instructs patients on sample collection and follow-up/referral information.
• Communicates lab results and prescriptions to patients and pharmacies; answers practitioner messages.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives.

Every day, you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

• Delivers professional nursing care to clinic patients; performs diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; independently triages nursing situations in accordance with standing orders/protocols; addresses more complex, urgent or emergent situations escalated from other clinic staff.
• Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests (e.g. EKG, Spirometry, vision/hearing screening, peak flow, color blindness, etc.) in accordance with established protocols.
• Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or changing of wound vac); removes sutures or staples after wound assessment by a Provider.
• Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC); applies splints/braces.
• Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow-up and referral information.
• Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners’ phone messages.

• One year RN work experience in a clinic setting OR two years of acute care RN work experience

$45.58 - $75.89 /hour
