Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Radiographer Ambulatory to join our Lake Forest Hospital imaging team. The role performs general and fluoroscopic radiography in outpatient settings, ensuring patient safety and image quality through established protocols.

Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technologist Program with ARRT Radiography (R) and IEMA accreditation. BLS certification required; casual/as needed, on‑site position at Lake Forest Hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) accreditation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post‑procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic‑quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time‑sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
