Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a Nurse Manager, Ambulatory to provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing and patient care in one or more ambulatory clinics. The Nurse Manager reports to the Practice Administrator to integrate clinic and nursing priorities into workflows, promote quality improvement initiatives, and support provider teams.

This role actively participates in strategic planning, resource allocation, and change management within the assigned clinics,

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience with at least one year in a leadership role.
• Ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in NC or compact state; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for nursing and patient care in ambulatory clinics.
• Align staffing models, workflows, and clinical processes to optimize patient flow and outcomes.
• Supervise and evaluate clinical and administrative staff; ensure competency and development.
• Ensure regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards are met.
• Lead budgeting, labor and supply cost monitoring, and cost-containment initiatives.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and training; serve as liaison for patients, staff, and providers.
