Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Staff Nurse Outpatient Oncology Infusion (Casual) seeks an experienced RN to provide comprehensive outpatient care and infusion services. You will conduct nursing assessments, administer therapies, and collaborate with the care team in a patient-centered setting.

The role requires a BSN and Illinois RN license with at least one year of experience and CPR certifications. Expect on-call duties and a strong emphasis on safety and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BSN required for all new hires after 01/01/2011.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• One year of experience in similar role.
• CPR - Basic Life Support.
• CPR - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• CPR - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities

• Nursing process--Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Involves patient/family to participate in their care, including teaching, continuum of care and discharge planning.
• Performs all aspects of patient care to optimize safety and reduce errors per National Patient Safety Goals.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; educates patient/family on pain management.
• Demonstrates effective hand-offs to the next healthcare provider.
• Assumes required on-call assignments.
