Job summary

Penn Medicine's Hematology/Oncology division is hiring an Ambulatory Nurse II to join the Hem Oncology team at 3400 Civic Center Blvd. This full-time role supports outpatient hematology/oncology care, collaborating with physicians, APPs, nurses, and the broader care team.

The Ambulatory Nurse II provides patient-centered nursing care, applying the nursing process, and ensures safety and quality in an outpatient setting, with schedule Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• RN with state licensure required.
• If telehealth or out-of-state care, ensure appropriate multistate license.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS per specialty required.
• Certification in specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process to assigned patients.
• Collaborate with interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Demonstrate professional practice and safety in all nursing activities.
• Engage in evidence-based practice and CQI as part of the care team.
• Support patient and family-centered care and education.

Hematology Oncology is hiring an Ambulatory Nurse II to join their team!

Penn Medicine's Division of Hematology/Oncology is one of the largest hematology/oncology groups in the country. We are recognized nationally and internationally for our excellence in patient care, research and training. Our physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses care for patients with all types of cancer and benign blood-related disorders, from the most common to the most complex, seeing more than 175,000 outpatient visits annually.

The Hematology-Oncology Ambulatory Nurse will function as part of a dynamic team in providing care to patients within the Division, while interacting with a multidisciplinary team with the Abramson Cancer Center.

The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills, and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum.

The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains.

The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the elderly.

The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family-Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork (Definitions listed below).

The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients.

Credentials

• RN with state licensure RN (Required)
• If providing telehealth (video or phone) or direct patient care to individuals residing outside Pennsylvania, the employee must obtain and maintain an appropriate multistate compact license or individual state licenses as required prior to service delivery (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience

• Diploma or ASN from an accredited school of nursing And More than 15 months of relevant (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree BSN from an accredited school of nursing And More than 15 months relevant professional nursing experience. (Preferred)
