Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant-Ambulatory for the Hayward Wellness Center. Under clinical supervision, you will provide basic clinical and front-office support, assist clinicians, collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, and help coordinate patient care in a per diem, day-shift role.

The position requires MA certification and outpatient experience; compensation is hourly with benefits and a per diem schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified/accredited medical assistant school.
• One year outpatient experience preferred.
• Active Medical Assistant certification as listed (AAMA/AMCA/CCMA/NCCT/MMCI/AMT) and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and provide basic clinical support.
• Administer non-invasive testing and collect specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy including venipuncture and finger-stick.
• Greet patients, prepare examination rooms, and assist with procedures.
• Register patients and schedule appointments in the clinic system.
• Provide patient education and coordinate follow-up care.
