Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care in our Syracuse Clinic. The role involves assisting clinicians, gathering information for visits, and communicating with patients via phone and in person.

The position requires BLS certification or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program or RN/LPN license, and strong computer/PHI privacy skills. Work hours typically include Mon-Thu and limited Friday shifts in a busy ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to the start date.
Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or has a current RN/LPN license
Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Clinician, provide care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information relative to the visit and condition.
Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.
Work with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care with attention to detail and follow through.
Demonstrate proficiency in basic Medical Assisting skills and experience providing care in an ambulatory setting.
