Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in an ambulatory care setting. You will perform both direct and indirect patient care and assist with routine medical procedures.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of medical/office experience, ACS/ICU terminology familiarity, and CPR certification within 60 days of hire. Day shift; strong benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a one-year MA program or an accredited two-year MA program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred at hire; required within 90 days.
• CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.
• One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office preferred.
• Basic business office, clinical, and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers in ambulatory care with direct and indirect patient care.
• Perform routine medical assisting procedures to promote patient comfort, safety and quality care.
