Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS seeks an LPN-Ambulatory to assist with patient care and administer treatments per the supervisor's plan. The position involves expanding IV therapy responsibilities as needed and requires a valid LPN license and BLS within 90 days of hire.

You will maintain patient records, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license; LPN certified in IV therapy if required by clinical area.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of patient care procedures and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by supervisor.
• Reports to supervisor and other staff any patient issues and concerns.
• Maintains accurate patient records (e.g. charts, schedules, procedures, medication history).
• Educates patients and families in accordance with the plan of care.
• Functions in expanded role of IV therapy as required by clinical area.
• Serves on at least one nursing council or committee to improve patient care.
