Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist for the Neurology Oncology Clinic to advance precision medication management and seamless care transitions in an ambulatory setting.

You will collaborate with neuro-oncology teams, support advanced therapies, and contribute to education for learners within a Magnet-recognized academic medical center known for research and patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Completion of Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent.
• Licensure in Virginia required or within 60 days of hire.
• PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert medication therapy management for ambulatory neuro-oncology patients.
• Collaborate with neuro-oncology physicians, infusion center teams, and specialty pharmacy.
• Support advanced therapies including oral oncolytics, immunotherapies, and investigational agents.

• Deliver expert medication therapy management for patients with complex neurologic malignancies in an ambulatory setting.
• Collaborate closely with neuro-oncology physicians, infusion center teams, and specialty pharmacy to optimize treatment outcomes.
• Support advanced therapies including oral oncolytics, immunotherapies, and investigational agents.
• Drive continuity of care across inpatient, outpatient, and infusion services—ensuring safe transitions and improved patient experience.
• Enhance UVA prescription capture through proactive engagement with UVA specialty and retail pharmacy services.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy learners and contribute to continuous professional development across the care team.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy required.
• Experience: No experience required. PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License or within 60 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
