Qualifications

• Current Registered Nursing License in Maryland.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent field of study preferred.
• CPR certification current.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisor, charge nurse, or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership to a team of nurses across multiple clinic sites.
• Serve as a first point of contact for staff concerns, workflow challenges, and clinical questions; foster a culture of psychological safety, open communication, and mutual respect.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, team huddles, and staff meetings to keep the nursing team informed, engaged, and heard.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff through individualized coaching, skill-building opportunities, and constructive performance feedback.
• Maintain active clinical practice by providing direct patient care on a regular basis including triage, chronic disease management support, immunizations, procedures, laboratory services, and patient education.
• Stay current on clinical competencies, EHR workflows, and evidence-based ambulatory care practices to remain a credible clinical resource for staff.
• Supervise and evaluate the clinical performance of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to scope of practice, licensure requirements, and organizational policies.
• Oversee nursing workflows, triage protocols, standing orders, and delegation of tasks to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
• Monitor and improve key quality and clinical outcome metrics in collaboration with the Quality Department.
• Provide clinical training to nurses and medical assistants and supervise the completion of their clinical competency evaluations.
• Develop and manage nursing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage across clinic hours and sites.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new nursing staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and manage disciplinary processes, when necessary, in partnership with HR.
• Ensure timely completion of mandatory training, competency validations, and licensure/certification renewals for all clinical staff.
• Assist with educational programming and professional development activities to support the ongoing growth of the nursing team.
• Represent nursing perspectives in interdisciplinary meetings, quality committees, other committees.
• Communicate policy changes, clinical updates, and organizational priorities clearly to the nursing team.
• Provide recommendations to the Clinical Operations Manager regarding administrative and corrective actions for support staff.

Job Summary

The Ambulatory Care Nurse Manager provides leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of nursing services within the Greater Baden Medical Services clinical sites. The Nurse Manager is responsible for maintaining a highly-functioning, well-supported nursing team that delivers safe, equitable, and high-quality care. The nurse manager utilizes the nursing process to assess and evaluate care at the center. The nurse manager is an integral part of the health care team that collaborates with other health team members and the operations managers to facilitate patient care. The nurse manager also ensures ancillary services are provided as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Provide visible, hands-on leadership to a team of nurses across multiple clinic sites.
• Serve as a first point of contact for staff concerns, workflow challenges, and clinical questions; foster a culture of psychological safety, open communication, and mutual respect.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, team huddles, and staff meetings to keep the nursing team informed, engaged, and heard.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff through individualized coaching, skill-building opportunities, and constructive performance feedback.
• Maintain active clinical practice by providing direct patient care on a regular basis including triage, chronic disease management support, immunizations, procedures, laboratory services, and patient education. Steps into clinical workflows during high-volume periods, staff shortages, or complex patient situations to support the team in real time
• Stay current on clinical competencies, EHR workflows, and evidence-based ambulatory care practices to remain a credible clinical resource for staff.
• Supervise and evaluate the clinical performance of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to scope of practice, licensure requirements, and organizational policies.
• Oversee nursing workflows, triage protocols, standing orders, and delegation of tasks to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
• Monitor and improve key quality and clinical outcome metrics (e.g., UDS measures, chronic disease control rates, preventive screening rates) in collaboration with the Quality Department.
• Provide clinical training to nurses and medical assistants and supervise the completion of their clinical competency evaluations.
• Develop and manage nursing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage across clinic hours and sites. Reviews staffing model for nursing and nursing management and makes appropriate recommendations.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new nursing staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and manage disciplinary processes, when necessary, in partnership with HR.
• Ensure timely completion of mandatory training, competency validations, and licensure/certification renewals for all clinical staff.
• Assist with educational programming and professional development activities to support the ongoing growth of the nursing team.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nursing License in the State of Maryland.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent field of study preferred.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisor, charge nurse, or management experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory, primary care, or community health settings.
• Familiarity with underserved population health needs, social determinants of health, and trauma-informed care principles.
