Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to coordinate daily clinic operations and support providers in an ambulatory setting. You will lead clinical activities, improve patient flow, and ensure service excellence across Loyola Medicine’s primary and specialty care sites.

You will supervise scheduling, registration, and staff onboarding while promoting adherence to policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 3-5 years ambulatory healthcare experience in a primary or specialty care setting.
• Current CMA, RMA, NCCT, or NHA credentialed Medical Assistant.
• Current CPR certification.
• Successful completion of Loyola's phlebotomy training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support throughout the patient visit.
• Coordinate daily clinical operations to ensure efficient workflow and patient access.
• Support registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and patient access functions.
• Lead and coordinate staff activities including scheduling, onboarding, training, and performance support.
• Assist with operational oversight including supply management and charge capture processes.
• Promote quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Serve as a communication hub among staff, providers, patients, and departments.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
