Job summary

WMCP WMC Physician Practices in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the practice under physician and RN supervision. The role involves greeting patients, obtaining initial information and vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting during exams and procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or MA program graduate, and must obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. One year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of clinical experience.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms and gathers initial information and vitals.
• Prepares exam rooms with attention to cleanliness and available supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Assists providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation and with office administrative tasks (phones, messages, data entry, deposits).

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
