Job summary

ChenMed in Gretna, LA seeks a Board-Certified Cardiologist to join our clinical operations team. You’ll deliver direct patient care in ambulatory settings, diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases, and participate in rounds and conferences.

You will lead a cardiovascular care team, coordinate care across PCPs, read EKGs and echoes, manage a large patient panel, and mentor center staff. This role requires MD/DO with cardiology certification, active license, and willingness to travel locally.

Qualifications

• MD or DO in Cardiology required.
• Board certification in Cardiology required.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in state of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification w/in first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care with care coordination and population management.
• Leads a cardiovascular care team including Care Promoters, Echocardiogram/X-ray Technicians, and possibly NPs/PAs.
• Supports Medical Director, Cardiology in daily operations and stakeholder relationships across ChenMed centers.
• Ensures compliance with guidelines and supports quality, risk, and utilization programs.
• Manages care for chronic cardiovascular diseases, orders tests, and develops treatment plans.
• Reads EKGs, chest X-rays, and echocardiograms; orders related studies.
