The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Staff RN for its Addiction Treatment Center in Burlington, VT. The RN will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate care for patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, coordinating care, supporting medication management, and participating in rounds to plan patient care. BSN-preferred, ADN required, Vermont RN licensure required.

Formación

• Three years of RN experience with competencies specific to behavioral health.
• Experience in the field of substance use disorders preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by Vermont.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Appropriate experience in the specific clinical area; varies by unit.

Responsabilidades

• Assess patient vitals and withdrawal symptoms.
• Coordinate patient care.
• Support physicians in prescribing medications for opioid, alcohol, and tobacco use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Serve as main liaison with toxicology labs and pharmacies.
• Ensure patients have prescribed medications by coordinating with pharmacies and completing prior authorizations.
• Administer injectable medications.
• Monitor patient progress via urine drug testing and prescription monitoring and document/communicate results.
• Triaging patient calls.
• Provide patient education.
• Engage in multi-disciplinary rounds to determine patient care plans.
• Coordinate the contingency management program and administer point-of-care testing.
