We believe this moment requires transformative change.
The climate crisis is here. And Black, Indigenous and people of color have been bearing the burden of our pollution-based economy for generations. We have the solutions to stop climate change, but we lack the political will to do it at the rate and scale that’s needed.
EnviroVoters exists to build the political will and power to solve the climate crisis, use climate action to advance justice, and create a global roadmap. To protect our water, land, air, and our most vulnerable communities, we organize voters, elect and train candidates, and hold lawmakers accountable for bold policy change.
Our vision is to build resilient, healthy, thriving communities, and create a democracy and economy that is just and sustainable for all.
California Environmental Voters (EnviroVoters) and EnviroVoters Education Fund are excited to launch a search for Youth Ambassadors to join our dynamic, fun, and high-performing team!
The Ambassadors at EnviroVoters Education Fund are the leaders of the campaign — WE CAN: Water Equity and Clean Air Now! Their campaign tackles the severe inequities surrounding water equity and clean air in the Central Valley, Inland Empire, Sacramento and the Sierra Nevada regions by supporting youth leadership at the forefront of fighting for these issues.
The Central Valley, Inland Empire, Sacramento and Sierra Nevada regions have some of the nation’s worst air quality, especially from warehouses, oil production, mining, and agriculture. Long-term health risks like respiratory diseases, lung cancer, and impaired cognitive functioning will severely impact our community if we do not act now.
That is why we are calling for all youth aged 18 to 30 to join our team. By joining, you will participate in a nine-month cohort program where together you will learn how to build grassroots power for the environment and climate justice, which includes advocacy for a youth climate board to give young people a voice in local decision-making and community education and outreach to achieve environmental justice for our communities.
The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about protecting the environment and addressing climate change. They have a strong understanding of environmental justice issues and are committed to advocating for equitable solutions. This individual is not only knowledgeable about the issues of climate justice in their community but is also enthusiastic about actively engaging in initiatives that promote equity. They also have the following skills:
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to assume a pivotal role with this highly respected organization from January 2027 – September 2027.
There are opportunities to extend the role into a two-year program following the conclusion of this term.
While the role is mostly conducted remotely, you should be based in California’s Central Valley, Sacramento, Sierra Nevada region, or the Inland Empire.
