Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Grants Pass, OR is seeking a compassionate Care Partner to assist residents with daily living activities during the 5:30am–2pm shifts (up to 30 hours/week). You will provide personal care, monitor health, and offer companionship to seniors in a vibrant community setting.

You will collaborate with the Wellness Team, families, and coworkers, maintain cleanliness, and support residents through meals and social activities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Licensing documents (if required by your state) and ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care for elders, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Facilitate life-enriching social and recreational activities for residents.
• Communicate with residents, families, team members, and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness with light housekeeping as needed.

What You’ll Do

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
