Job summary

Nexstar Media in Lexington, KY is seeking a morning show anchor who leads with a strong on-air presence and ties to the local community. You will present news for all platforms, write and deliver stories, and help guide a newsroom team through broadcasts and live events.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of reporting or anchoring experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coach and motivate others while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
• Minimum three years' experience in reporting or anchoring
• Superior on-air presence
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work any shift

• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Edits video clips as assigned.
• Writes content for the website and other eMedia platforms.
• Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites.
