Job summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of California Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting a Junior Specialist to assist with Alzheimer’s disease research. The position involves collaborating with the PI on study planning and execution, including participant recruitment, data collection, and cognitive assessments.

Under Dr. Alyssa Weakley’s supervision, the incumbent will help with data management, manuscript preparation, and presentations.

Qualifications

• Prior human subjects research experience in a participant facing role.
• Experience conducting cognitive evaluations.
• Experience conducting evaluations/working with participants in a home setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, make critical decisions.
• Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the PI in planning and executing a research project.
• Recruit participants and manage databases and data collection tasks.
• Conduct brief cognitive assessments and technology-related evaluations.
• Assist in manuscript preparation and conference presentations.
• Mentor undergraduate research assistants and participate in lab meetings.
