Job Description

The Alumni Engagement Officer (AEO) is a frontline alumni engagement position responsible for developing and implementing strategic alumni engagement efforts that strengthen lifelong relationships between UNLV and its alumni community.

The AEO focuses on building meaningful alumni connections, increasing alumni participation, expanding volunteer leadership, and supporting the advancement pipeline through proactive relationship management and engagement strategies. The position serves as a strategic connector between alumni and the university, creating opportunities for alumni to remain engaged through volunteer leadership, regional and affinity‑based engagement, career and student engagement initiatives, advocacy opportunities, and philanthropic involvement.

The AEO manages assigned regional markets and alumni segments and is responsible for identifying, cultivating, stewarding, and growing alumni engagement opportunities that support institutional priorities. The position supports the growth and sustainability of Regional Rebel Networks in Nevada and key external markets through volunteer recruitment, leadership development, strategic outreach, and alumni relationship management.

The role collaborates closely with Development, Annual Giving, colleges and schools, Career Services, Athletics, Admissions, and campus partners to create integrated alumni engagement strategies that strengthen affinity and support philanthropic pipeline development. The AEO utilizes Salesforce CRM and engagement metrics to monitor alumni participation, volunteer involvement, outreach activity, and engagement outcomes. The AEO represents UNLV and the Division of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement at university and regional events and serves as a visible ambassador for the Rebels Forever alumni community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • • One to three years of related experience in alumni engagement, higher education, advancement, nonprofit engagement, volunteer management, community outreach, event management, fundraising support, or related external relations work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • • Experience working in higher education advancement or alumni relations environments.
  • • Experience with volunteer leadership development, portfolio management, regional engagement strategies, CRM systems, and pipeline development initiatives.
  • • Three to five years of related experience, and one to three years of supervisory experience.
