Job summary

State Street Corporation in Irvine, CA seeks a senior operations leader to guide a global team across custody, fund accounting, and trade processing. You will drive operational excellence, oversee client communications, and ensure high-quality service delivery for complex financial services.

The role requires 10+ years in custody/ fund accounting, strong presentation and analytical skills, and a track record of cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience in custody, fund accounting and/or trade processing.
• Knowledge of financial markets, language and products, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of VBA macros and Business Objects is a plus.
• Proven critical thinking, technical, analytical, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize workloads under tight deadlines in a very fast-paced trading-driven environment.
• Project management/Business Analysis/Client Solutions expertise required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
• Experience in Middle or Back Office Core Operations an advantage
• Experience in documentation of Operational processes
• Direct client facing experience

Job description

Individual Accountabilities

• Ability to lead and manage a team ensuring development and growth of skills
• Ability to lead Client on-boarding and/or large project implementations
• Product expert for Centre of excellence
• Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of overall process and operating models, with expertise in the Bank Loan and Alternatives segment
• Develop and deliver training/coaching
• Acts as primary contact and key escalation point for operational issues and provides technical expertise to resolve daily problems
• Experience in leading global organizations
• Experience in or exposure to Fund Accounting, Custody, Financial Reporting, Recon, Fund Operations, Trade Processing, Middle Office, Risk Oversight, Relationship Management, Automation and Management Reporting are required
• Lead and manage a consistent high quality service delivery to the client across all Service functions, working closely with GS Client Executive & Client Service Teams
• Prepares and reviews various standardized reports within the business unit related to accounting activities
• Prepares client account communications and updates to custodians and counterparties
• Exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance

• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $202,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
