Job summary

Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a skilled tailor to conduct alterations, resizing, and restyling of all merchandise retailed in Neiman Marcus stores. You will assist fitters in achieving goals with professional help on fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel.

Experience in tailoring operations or industrial sewing is preferred. You will read instructions from managers, operate sewing equipment, and ensure quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment.
• Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to meet quality standards set by Neiman Marcus.
• Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders.
• Rotate sleeves, shorten sleeves
• Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders
• Shorten coat, re-line coat, or remake inside or outside pockets
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
• Complete alterations assigned by Supervisor/Lead
• Interpret instructions furnished in written and oral form
• Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead

You Will Be

• Operate and maintain all sewing equipment

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form
