Job summary

Madewell is seeking a Distribution Analyst to support the flow of product across stores and channels. You will analyze selling trends, forecast needs with Planning and Merchandising, and build reports that enable smarter allocation decisions to improve the customer experience.

This role follows an in-office work model at our New York office, requiring Tuesday through Thursday on-site attendance starting Sept 8, 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience (internship or retail store experience preferred).
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute allocation strategies that support sales and inventory objectives across stores and channels.
• Analyze selling trends and inventory data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with Planning and Merchandising to forecast needs and manage inventory flow throughout the season.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries.
• Execute initial inventory releases, transfers, and store-level adjustments.
• Build and maintain allocation reports and dashboards to support business insights.
• Support backlog and markdown monitoring to optimize inventory levels and product performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine allocation logic and improve efficiency.
