Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Allocation Analyst to optimize merchandise distribution across stores. You will analyze sales data, forecast needs, and collaborate with Buying and Planning to execute the off-price business model.

This role requires Excel expertise, data-driven problem solving, and strong communication to partner with multiple stakeholders and ensure timely allocations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising and/or Business.
  • Affinity for retail merchandising, planning, or allocations.
  • Ability to analyze data and make allocation recommendations.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving with attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with curiosity and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the right merchandise is being sent to the right stores at the right times and in the right quantities to maximize sales.
  • Manage and manipulate data and spreadsheets to analyze and accurately predict how merchandise should be allocated and distributed throughout the company.
  • Work alongside Buying and Planning team members to understand the off-price business model and execute the business strategy effectively.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve allocation issues with appropriate individuals so that timely allocation of merchandise can be achieved.
  • Escalate urgent errors or requests for clarification to the appropriate business partner.
  • Reflect on and evaluate data to determine where improvements and changes can be made to the existing strategy.
  • Ensure DC Reserve items are released in accordance with the scheduled weekly release plan.
  • Collaborate for success; teamwork within our department is key to success and you will work with several functional areas within the department for input, ideas, and to execute your assignments.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Merchandising and/or Business).
  • Affinity for retail merchandising, planning, or allocations.
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data to make strategic allocation recommendations.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Data-driven problem-solver who can build and maintain productive partnerships by living our core values.
  • Ability to think critically with high attention to detail and listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative with a sense of curiosity, adaptability, and courage to always be a student of the business.
