Two physicians currently lead efforts in immunology, both inpatient and outpatient, the latter of which includes participation in the Immunohematology Multi-disciplinary Clinic, 22q Multi-disciplinary Clinic, and more. A third immunology focused physician would aid in meeting the needs of patients in Phoenix and the surrounding areas.
Education is an important aspect of the position as the clinic participates in the training of rotating pediatric residents. Also, Phoenix Children's Hospital has partnered with Mayo Clinic Arizona for a combined Allergy/Immunology fellowship. Physicians have academic faculty appointments through the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix and Creighton University School of Medicine.
Finally, the clinic is actively involved in clinical and translational research in food allergy, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, asthma, and more. Prospective candidates should have an interest in participating in research efforts.
