Cambridge Public Schools Visual & Performing Arts in Cambridge, MA, seeks an All City Orchestra conductor for a part-time engagement. You will oversee weekly rehearsals, plan ensembles' performances, and coordinate with the VPA department to support staff and resources.

The role emphasizes equity, collaboration with other music directors, and outreach to attract young musicians for school and public events. Contract runs fall–spring with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• VPA teacher required for Visual & Performing Arts program.
• CPSD teacher certification or assignment within Cambridge Public Schools.
• Experience directing orchestras or ensembles in school settings is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Produces and directs musical performances for school and public performances, coordinating production calendar with VPA Director.
• Applies a social justice approach and equity lens in all aspects of the process.
• Collaborates with music directors and ensembles; recruits and engages students.
• Rehearses with students to ensure mastery of parts; schedules and conducts performances.
• Coordinates with VPA staff for support roles and personnel approval processes.
