Job summary

MFA Oil is seeking a Big O Alignment Technician to perform brake, front end, and alignment maintenance in accordance with company programs, policies, and procedures. The role includes diagnosing vehicles, ensuring quality control, and maintaining productive customer service flow.

You will participate in safety meetings, assist in training new personnel, and help meet service, sales, and productivity goals while following PPE regulations and company policies.

• Diagnose and repair vehicles and perform quality control of shop functions.
• Safely operate vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, move vehicles as needed.
• Attend weekly store meetings to review safety, policies, procedures, and changes.
• Assist in organizing, documenting, and processing adjustments and core credits.
• Work with store management to meet service-related quotas.
• Provide completed work details to counter personnel for invoicing.

Overview

A Big O Alignment Technician performs the required mechanical duties in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all company programs, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform brake, front end, and alignment maintenance as well as mechanical work in accordance with all company programs, policies, and procedures
• Maintain the orderly flow of customer service assignment to ensure productivity
• Ensure that Big O's Extra Care Services are extended to all customers
• Properly diagnose and repair customers' vehicles, performing quality control of all shop functions
• Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, moving vehicles as needed to, and away from, service areas
• Attend weekly store meetings to review safety issues, store policies, procedures, and product information changes as required
• Assist in organizing, documenting, and processing adjustments and core credits
• Work with store management to ensure the successful accomplishment of budgeted service-related quotas
• Ensure that all appropriate information for completed work is given to the counter personnel for inclusion in final invoicing
• Utilize the company outside purchase program to ensure maximum profitability
• Ensure the consistent execution of the vehicle inspection program
• Promptly and efficiently perform alignments, inspections, and other duties to support store achievement of established service, sales, and productivity goals
• Assist management in the orientation, training, and coaching of new personnel

Job Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of one year of experience as a lube/tire/service technician
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
• Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
• Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
• Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions
• Ability and willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
• Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
• Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or driving) for up to nine hours per shift
• Ability to move and retrieve product and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds
• Valid driver's license
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre‑employment screenings
• Legal authorization to work in the United States of America

Preferred Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Two or more years of experience in an automotive shop environment
• Appropriate ASE certifications
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
