Job summary

Mazak Corporation in Florence, KY is seeking an Aligner to install precision parts in machine tool beds, align linear guides and ball screws, and handle precision units on machines.

You will use precision instruments to verify geometry, operate overhead cranes and forklifts, and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment. High school diploma required; some college or trade training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some College or Trade School preferred for advancement.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools are essential.
• Experience using precision instruments is a plus.
• Crane and forklift operation training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Inspects and cleans castings.
• Installs precision parts on machined castings.
• Verifies parallelism of linear guides and ball screws.
• Installs precision units on machine tools.
• Uses precision instruments to check geometry of machine tools.
• Operates overhead crane to install heavy items.
• Operates walk behind forklift to transport parts.
• Moves machine tools to different locations in the facility.

Description

Accountability:

The Aligner installs precision parts in the machine tool bed casting. Including units, ball screws, and linear guides.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Inspect and clean casting.
• Install precision parts on machined casting.
• Verify parallel of linear guides and ball screws.
• Install precision units on machine tool.
• Use precision instruments to check geometry of machine tool.
• Operate overhead crane to install heavy items.
• Operate walk behind fork truck to transport parts.
• Operate overhead crane to move machine tool to different locations in the facility.

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma.
• Some College or Trade School preferred.

Skills:

• Mechanical Aptitude
• Experience with hand tools
• Experience with power tools
• Previous Crane and walk behind fork truck training.
• Experience using precision instruments.
