Job summary

Binny's Beverage Depot in Algonquin, IL is hiring for a wine staff member dedicated to exceptional customer service. We seek someone with passion for wine, strong retail skills, and the ability to help customers find perfect selections.

You will learn about wines on the job, assist in stocking and merchandising, and work with a team across departments. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required, and starting pay ranges from $17.50 to $22.00 per hour with a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Strong knowledge of wine varietals, countries and regions.
• Able to taste wines professionally for educational purposes.
• Able to lift 40-50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Previous retail experience in wine/spirit or hospitality preferred.
• On-the-job training and educational opportunities provided to grow a career in wine retail.
• Able to count cash and make change accurately.
• Able to operate scanners and computer keyboards.
• Able to pass alcohol training class and maintain certification.
• Able to communicate with customers and managers.
• Able to follow directions and complete assignments.
• Able to write legibly and read small type.
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods and climb stairs.
• Able to work in cold areas and as scheduled.
• Consistent and regular attendance.

• Previous retail experience, experience in the wine and spirits industry or hospitality industry is preferred.

• Ability to count cash and make change accurately.
• Ability to operate business machines (scanners, computer keyboards, etc.).
• Ability to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.

Benefits

Hourly pay range for this position: $17.50–$22.00.
