The University of Pittsburgh DLAR is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinary care, animal health, and research operations across multiple buildings. The role includes surgical and anesthesia support, medical imaging, medication administration, and documentation compliance.

Ideal candidates will have ALAT certification, AVMA CVTEA-trained education, and active veterinary technician licensure, with the ability to work fixed shifts and some evenings/weekends. On-site campus position.

Qualifications

• Requires college degree in animal science or related biological science.
• AALAS ALAT certification required; external candidates must attain within 12 months.
• Completion of AVMA CVTEA accredited veterinary technician program and licensure status.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist DLAR veterinarians with veterinary medical care and maintenance of animal colony health.
• Provide animal study support and perform animal technical procedures under veterinarian direction.
• Provide animal husbandry, care or cage wash support as needed to meet facility operations.
