Job summary

Providence in Anchorage seeks a Senior Market Area Director, Laboratory Services to coordinate multi-lab initiatives and lead system-wide performance improvements. You will work closely with Division executives, physician partners, and lab teams to drive transformation and align operations with strategic goals.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in healthcare labs, strong financial acumen, and the ability to navigate regulatory environments while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience with P&L accountability in a large integrated healthcare system or similar environment.
• Experience developing and implementing both short-term and long-term business strategies.
• Experience leading laboratory operations in highly regulated healthcare environments.
• Understanding of laboratory services, operational performance, quality improvement, compliance, reimbursement, and physician support.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or equivalent required upon hire.
• Additional laboratory management, quality, or safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Transformation Champion: Partner with the Division Executive Director, Clinical Lab to implement transformation initiatives.
• Strategic Planning Leader: Support long-range planning with market and division leadership.
• Operational Excellence Driver: Oversee operations, ensure high-quality care, productivity, and efficiency.
• Systems Integration Advocate: Align lab services with broader system strategies.
• Growth and Innovation Strategist: Develop initiatives focused on quality, compliance, and reimbursement optimization.
• Quality and Performance Leader: Achieve operational, clinical, financial, and quality targets.
• Physician Partnership Builder: Build relationships with physician leadership and medical staff.
• Process Improvement Champion: Identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce waste across labs.
• Financial Steward: Oversee financial planning and ensure resources align with priorities.
• Change Leadership Expert: Lead organizational change and navigate evolving service delivery models.
