Job summary

Fairweather in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a Facility Engineer to support surface engineering and planning for permanent on and offshore facilities. The role is based in Anchorage with possible North Slope travel.

Key responsibilities include supervising HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring code compliance, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors and vendors to maintain safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of facilities experience on the North Slope.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Kenai onshore and offshore.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate surface facilities scope from a technical and financial perspective in support of production.
  • Supervise and manage routine upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure facility operations comply with local codes, environmental laws, and health and safety regulations.
  • Develop operational budgets, analyze project costs, and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Respond to infrastructure crises and identify flaws or risks to avoid downtime.
  • Identify mitigations for execution threats and opportunities, and collaborate with other functions.
